Est-ce Mars – court songs from 17th-century Paris

Est-ce Mars – court songs from 17th-century Paris

2. June 2025 – 20:00
|

This trio recital promises a truly unique journey into the world of Renaissance music. Lutenists Joel Frederiksen and Emma-Lisa Roux and gambist Giovanna Baviera aren’t just exceptional soloists on their instruments, but also highly accomplished singers. What sets them apart is their mastery of self-accompanied singing – a rare, demanding art that combines both disciplines. With a programme of 17th-century French court songs, the trio will be breathing life into a once-common practice that has become unusual today.
