Dear a cappella fans,
Has someone been tampering with the clock? We can hardly believe that the silver jubilee of our festival in 2025 is on the horizon! To celebrate this special anniversary, our Finnish friends Rajaton will be returning, alongside Profeti della Quinta and The Magnets. As for us, amarcord will be joined by the Klenke Quartet when we take to the stage in the opening concert. Lutenist and singer Joel Frederiksen will delve into the fascinating genre of self-accompanied Renaissance singing in a trio with his colleagues Emma-Lisa Roux and Giovanna Baviera. We’ll also shine a spotlight on the vocal comedy of our Austrian neighbours with Die Echten, and introduce Van Canto, the world’s first a cappella heavy metal band. The recital by last year’s competition winners, the calens vocal ensemble, promises to be every bit as inspiring as the 15th International a cappella Contest, which will mark this milestone year in the prestigious Great Hall of the Gewandhaus. The festival will conclude with the a cappella lecture and the final concert – an uplifting and enriching finale that will surely resonate with us until this cherished festival returns to delight our hearts and ears in 2026.
Here’s to celebrating our silver jubilee together!
