The voice and the psyche

The voice and the psyche

7. June 2025 – 11:00
|

The silver jubilee edition of a cappella wouldn’t be complete without a lecture on the voice by Professor Michael Fuchs. An erstwhile member of St Thomas’s Boys Choir, Professor Fuchs is head of the Phoniatry and Audiology Section at the Leipzig University Hospital. An enthusiastic researcher and highly sought-after voice specialist, he’s been a long-standing companion of the amarcord festival – working behind the scenes, on stage and as a speaker. His annual lectures, which explore aspects of voice research and topics from everyday phoniatric practice, have become a cornerstone of the festival and are featured in the series of essays entitled ‘a cappella Blätter’. For 2025, Professor Fuchs will be examining the fascinating relationship between the voice and the psyche – an area that deserves greater attention and promises to reveal captivating insights for all. Don’t miss this opportunity – as always, attendance of the lecture is free of charge.
